Hex digits map perfectly to 4 bits, making byte representation compact (2 digits per byte). It is much shorter than binary while maintaining easy conversion. Decimal does not align with binary boundaries.
The 0x prefix indicates a hexadecimal number. 0xFF means decimal 255. Some languages use # (CSS), $ (assembly), or h suffix instead.
#RRGGBB represents red, green, blue values from 00 to FF (0-255). #FF0000 is pure red, #00FF00 is green, #FFFFFF is white, #000000 is black.
Hex has 16 values (0-F), which is exactly 2^4. So one hex digit perfectly represents 4 binary digits. Two hex digits = 8 bits = 1 byte.
A=10, B=11, C=12, D=13, E=14, F=15. These extend the 0-9 digits to create 16 values total. Case does not matter: a=A=10.
